  2. Advocacy - While advancing the priorities and policies of its members, NARO-Texas seeks to maintain strong ties and open communication with all of our elected officials. NARO-Texas is non-partisan, does not endorse political candidates and is prohibited by law from making political contributions.
  3. Education - NARO-Texas sponsors specialized conventions and educational seminars for mineral and royalty owners on leasing, legal rights, management, taxation, and estate planning.

Other NARO-Texas benefits

  • NARO-Texas News - NARO-Texas publishes a newsletter on an "as needed basis" at this time; however, a report fom the President and articles on state issues may be found in the monthly ROAR from NARO.
  • NARO-Texas Scholarship - For eight years, the annual NARO-Texas Convention was held in conjunction with Angelo State University’s Robert and Nona Carr Scholarship Foundation. NARO-Texas contributed the proceeds of those conventions to the NARO-Texas Scholarship Endowment at Angelo State University. The endowment is used to fund scholarships to deserving ASU juniors and seniors who are not receiving other scholarship funding.
  • Networking - Meeting other royalty owners whom have "walked in your shoes" make joining NARO-Texas a good decision. NARO-Texas officers and directors can help members in need of assistance with oil & gas questions.
  • Convention - Each year, usually in early June, NARO-Texas holds its annual convention, which includes speakers on issues of interest to royalty, mineral and surface owners. Royalty owner relations representatives of various oil & gas companies as well as vendors of oil & gas production data, leasing services, computer software and other products attend and exhibit their wares. Social events highlight the three-day event.

What is the NARO-Texas Legislative Fund?

Donations to the NARO-Texas Legislative Fund enable the Association to more effectively represent its members by contracting with a professional lobbyist who then carries the royalty owner message to the legislature. The fund was first established during the 1999 legislative session to fund the fight against compulsory unitization and was again utilized during the 2001 session when compulsory unitization was successfully opposed and new royalty payment requirements were supported.  Contributions may be mailed to:
